The Westlake Community Garden opened in 2014 with 10 plots. This Garden had grown to 48 plots with little or no advertising.

Sr. Judy Wierick Leads the Garden Prayer [1]

Gardeners gathered beside the plot of Frank Obey, a pioneer community gardener who passed away suddenly in April. His fellow gardeners will keep Frank's plot active this year, with crops grown in his memory donated to the Westlake Food Pantry. Sr. Judy Wierick reads the Garden Prayer, which was written by Club member Brian Thompson for the 2014 Opening Ceremony. Club members Kathy Bruening and Ronald Hollis are pictured, as is Lydia Gadd, Director of Westlake's Community Services Department.
